The Sprogley Motorsport Enclosed Airbox is without question, the best performing enclosed intake system for the VW Lupo & Seat Arosa platform. 

Over a number of years, our enclosed airboxes have been developed and improved. They have been relentlessly tested on the dyno, as well as UK race tracks and the Nurburgring, by the capable hands of Clayton Jones, fitted to his stunning VW Lupo GTI, of which we are sure many of you are familiar with.

We have revised our airboxes to work specifically with the VW Lupo and Seat Arosa.

What makes the Lupo / Arosa AMS different to our universal airboxes?

• NEW Hard pipe air feed (see SprogTech Hard Pipe Air Feed for details)
• All 3 Airbox specs come STANDARD with our upgraded air filter and velocity stack filter base (typically found in the V3 Pro)
• 19mm breather port
• NEW Upgraded FlushFit Airbox ends
• Larger inlet diameter (+8mm)

• V1 Spec - This is our basic spec of airbox. It is fantastic for any road car. It comes with a satin black tub and unpainted airbox ends.
• V2 Spec - This is our clear tub airbox. Like the V1, it also comes with unpainted airbox ends, but it features our completely unique clear airbox tub, exposing the Ramair filter. This is a fantastic option for show cars, wanting to stand out!
• V3 Spec - This is our Motorsport spec airbox. The V3 spec has extra measures to completely irradecate heat soak in extreme situations, such as the race track. It features a High Temprature wrinkle black coating, that can protect against tempratures up to 170 degrees c*, and Funk Motorsport heat insulation inside the tub, that can protect against extreme tempratures.

The design of the SM airbox is heavily based around minimising the restriction that the air filter causes, making the engine work as little as possible to suck air into the combustion chamber. It does this while sourcing the air from a cool location and protecting the air filter its self from the heat of the engine bay.  

We have run 2 separate dyno tests to measure our Airboxes performance.

Firstly, we tested the airbox on a dyno and comparing it to the factory airbox of a VW lupo with a 1.4 75bhp engine. We saw a power increase of around 13% (10bhp and 10lbft) without any tuning to the engine its self. This is huge especially for a small capacity, low power car. This massively improved driving characteristics of the car, making it massively fun to drive!

Furthermore, we then dyno tested our airbox against some of the competition, to see it out perform anything else. We saw an average of 4.2bhp and 4.9lbft more when compared to one of the more expensive and well-established universal intakes on the market. All that extra performance for around £50 less!

When driving your car fitted with one of our Airboxes, the driving characteristics of your car will become noticeably different straight away. 

• Sharper throttle response
• Free-er revving
• Increase in torque feel
• Mid-range and top end pulls significantly better

All this finished off with a much throatier sound track, finished off in a very stylish and relatively compact package.
